Because I was asked today what I'm looking for in my Electric Spec slush, I thought I'd copy it here:
I
would LOVE some great epic fantasy style short stories (not solving a
world war, just something more local but a quasi-familiar setting,
magic, etc) . Tough to do and we get hardly any of it. I also love dark
stuff, super dark fantasy, or even dark pulpy stuff, maybe something
with a mystery to it? Horror is a tough sell to us--something
psychological/ Stephen King style would be awesome to see (but no
inter-family or feminist revenge stories, that's all we get, sigh). I
don't think I'd buy any take on any vampire at the moment and right now
my slush is totally full of doppelgangers and people waking up in other
people's bodies.
The Science Fiction Amendment: I don't love hard SF but we have a scientist on staff who loves it. Also, gimme some space opera and military sf.

I suppose I have a couple fantasy short stories. How do you feel about graphic violence, torture and/or profanity?
Well, I suppose I could just check out the guidelines... *blush*
Sie... usually not. Not that we're against violence portrayed, per se, but we rarely find a story where it's handled well. But feel free to submit!!
Oh, goodness. All my short stories that I think are good enough have been published before! I've been concentrating on novels so much I didn't know I'd run out of them. I have to either bring some of the half-dones up to snuff, or start something fresh...
