masochist

So I keep agreeing to do blog posts for people. It's like I've got an addiction,  but I can't stop the crazy train. Somebody on the Internet sidles up to me from the alleyways of Facebook, or they "Psst" me on my blog:

Hey, man. I got a free day. You want a blog post? Yeah? You know you do.

And I'm all, Yeah, man. How much will it... oh, the first one's free? Rock on.

Fuck me, I can't even think of enough to write about here at Sex Scenes. I mean, after EIGHT YEARS haven't we covered it all?

No. You're probably right. I haven't covered it all.

But I'm alway all, YAY, I GET TO GO WRITE ANOTHER POST. I mean, I want to do it. I love it when people ask. Seriously, it's flattering! People like me! And I'm a writer so I need people to like me! I desperately need people to like me. Pleeeeease like me.

And the really sad part is, I WANT to do it. I want to write more posts here and for other people and I want to write more stories and books and, and, well. Other stuff. I want to write all the freaking time. Even when I don't want to. Like, dude. I'd never say no to a request for a post. Like, ever.

I'm a masochist with writing, I tell ya.

Anyway, yeah. This all is just a roundabout way of announcing I got some blog spots coming up. And contests and shit. (That's something else I keep doing, giving away books. When I should be all Buy ma book!)

I'm going to read slush now.

Free? Yeah, as the Canadian band 'Rush' sang, "You don't get something for nothin', you don't get freedom for free."

Just like the free blog wanters, the film industry is a lot like it. Newbs want free screenplays with a promise of post payment after the success.

Of course, the only ones really making any freakin' money are the actors, if they are even paid.

Writing can indeed be addictive. Sometimes we can't stop writing, or write fast enogh to keep up with your Speed Racer brains.

Well, I don't mean to bitch about it, actually. It's totally flattering. But I just need to think of stuff to say!!

So what you're saying is I should wait a few months before asking you to guest post on GraveTells? *grin*

*Makes note to check with Betsy about summer spot*

I know how you feel, but in reverse. "I'd love a guest spot!" and I'd love to give everybody one! But Jesus, I only have so many hours in the day, and hosting 10-15 guest spots per month plus posting 10-15 reviews per month is like having a full time second job!

I don't know how you do it, honestly. But I'll write a guest spot for you anytime...

See? There I go again.
