Wow, dude, busy.

I don't know where my head is right now, much less my purse or cell phone. I've been corralling children (one of them 11 going on 17), drinking beerskies, traveling, having some fun, expecting company, and I have just enough work to keep me from getting cocky. What I'm NOT doing is writing, damn it. That stops tomorrow fo sho.

One thing I'm thinking of lately that between my slushpile and my students, I'm not seeing nearly enough conflict and tension. 

All I have time for right now is this:  Be an asshole to your characters.  If there's a way to turn the screw to them, stick a flat head in there and twist it, baby. Your readers will thank you later.
