big gig

I got some happy news this morning, which is about a concert called Big Gig. It's held outside, September 18th this year, and it's one of my all time favorite things to do in one of my favorite venues. Something like 8 or 10 bands on the main stage, they play all day. Bands like Flobots, Darling Thieves (I Hate Kate), Amberlin, and Smashing Pumpkins is headlining this year. Plus there's locals playing on a smaller stage. It's just damn fun is all.

So that makes me happy.

Tonight I'm off to see Monty Python The Holy Grail at Red Rocks. Bands, dinner, beers and it's a couple of friends' birthday. That's always fun, too.

OK. Now to work.

I'm living vicariously through my son Mike these days with concerts. He just got back from three days of Pitchfork in Chicago--fourth year in a row he's gone. His mom and I pay for it for his birthday present each year.

Can I be your adopted daughter, Les?

Live music is one of my vices.
