Scene: Writers conference. Late night. Elevator with a high power NY editor, slightly drunk and so s/he's feeling friendly. S/he peers at your dogtag and says: "I see you're attending the conference. What are you working on lately?"
You get one sentence to prove that YOURS is the next book s/he is going to go for. GO.
