happy father's day

To the dads hanging on to the backs of wobbly bikes.

To the dads shouting encouragement from the sidelines.

To the dads raising kids not born to them.

To the dads who go it alone.

To the dads who pick up messes.

To the dads who encourage their kids onto whatever path they choose.

To the dads who go to work, to all the dads who fought in wars and to those who didn't, to the dads waiting up in the night, and the dads going to court in order to see their kids more, to all the dads who are just there, day in and day out.

And especially to the dad in my family, my husband who provides the best example of parenting I know. We're lucky to have you, hon.
