I just found this quote via another blog. It speaks to my apathy. As fiction writers, we strive to be a conduit more than a bridge so that our words don't stand between the story and the reader. Most journalists today seem to have forgotten that.

I just endured ten minutes of dissertion and speculation on the shooting from my neighbor, so apparently someone's listening.
