Evil is unspectacular and always human and shares our bed and eats at our own table.
-- W. H. Auden
I just found this quote via another blog. It speaks to my apathy. As fiction writers, we strive to be a conduit more than a bridge so that our words don't stand between the story and the reader. Most journalists today seem to have forgotten that.
I just endured ten minutes of dissertion and speculation on the shooting from my neighbor, so apparently someone's listening.
