PHF's rebuttal:
"The Jeep Wrangler has had the same 4.0L engine for a very long time, it is one of the most reliable on the market. We have tuned the engine to output just over 200 hp which is more than enough to turn the 35" meats and keep the Dana 44 axles from breaking. There is a 4.5" Long Arm lift kit on it, which is more stable and reliable than stock. We also have a 1" body lift which allows us to fit the 35s and keep the center of gravity as low as possible. The lights are excellent and we used the Warn lights to be used for dual: fog or driving, which reduces the amount of overall lights required. Some of the others are used during actual night-time rockcrawling. Most of the components were selected to support hardcore wheeling first, looks last.

Many times we watch the Toyota's drop their trannies, oil pans or ring gears on the trail, while the Jeeps are crawling ahead and pulling the Suzuki's back over."

Now, see, I'm a chick so I would have remembered about the 1 inch body lift and the long arms, but as to the rest, to me it just looks cool. (I chose the warns myself.) I also would have said that I've seen this thing climb rocks as big as me, so "it does shit."

PHF is a pretty damn fine driver as well. Someday he'll have the giant cage rockcrawler that we trailer all over the place, it's just for now I won't let him.
We do have two college educations to pay for, after all.

:P

what are you, like, sixteen? Didn't we get over that "tearing up the trail thing" back in our teens?

ok, so I think we are talking about two different purposes for our cars here, and PHF LOATHES that "tear up the trail crap," (thinks its amaturish and immaturish). Since it's usually some pimply kid in a sideways trucker hat with one hand down his pants, I tend to agree.

Also, it get REAL dark here in the mountains, so we do actually need the lights to do night-time trails. Most of the trails up here are NOT gravel roads, they're riverbeds - very rocky. Also, if we actually start "tearing shit up offroading" the state closes the trails.

But two more important points on this: I DON'T FUCKING CARE that much about cars, so let's quit talking about it.

Also, it's my blog so I'm RIGHT. My jeep rocks and all other tries at offroading vehicles basically suck. Write a post on your thoughts about your breed of offroading and I swear I won't hassle you about it. Because, oh, did I mention that I don't fucking care that much about cars??
